Welcome to Mooreland…a quiet, friendly community where you can still take a walk, and feel safe while you’re doing it. Mooreland, a town which has five churches and is known for a strong school system, is located along the Santa Fe main line and smack dab in the middle of the oil industry.

Mooreland is well known for its fine school system housed in an elementary school for pre-school through sixth grade in the north part of town and junior-senior high school for ninth through 12th grade in the south. Multiple churches, which give the community a well-rounded religious feeling, include Baptist, Catholic, Christian and Methodist.

Mooreland has outstanding fire and police departments and a modern City Hall located on Main Street. The city provides water and utilities and owns its own electrical system. Woodward County District No. 1 offices and yard are also located within the city limits.
 
With Western Farmers Electric Cooperative and Allied Gypsum Plasterworks to the west and Transcanada ANR and DCP Midstream to the east, Mooreland is just 10 miles from the county seat of Woodward, 80 miles from Enid and 130 miles from the State Capital of Oklahoma City.

For recreation, Mooreland is only seven miles from Boiling Springs State Park, 19 miles from Alabaster Caverns State Park, 27 miles from Little Sahara State Park, 25 miles from Fort Supply Lake, 35 miles from the Gloss Mountains, 45 miles from Canton Lake and 70 miles from Great Salt Plains.

Mooreland is home of the always popular July 4 Celebration and free pork barbeque, a tradition begun in 1968 which annually draws a crowd of nearly 2,000. An arts and crafts show in April, town wide garage sale in June, community fair in August or September, school homecoming in September or October and Christmas In The Park in December are also popular activities hosted in the confines of Mooreland proper.

Mooreland boasts of an airport, beautiful city park and municipal swimming pool to go along with a modern community center. Mooreland also has a strong bank and excellent nursing home. The community is home of Prather Cues, which sells pool cues worldwide, and a hometown newspaper, The Mooreland Leader, which was established in 1903 by Omer Schnoebelen and is currently being run by third and fourth generations of Schnoebelens.

There are three quick stops, a body shop, roofing company, two accounting offices, post  office, auto repair shop, Farmers Cooperative Elevator and farm supplies, auction and realty company, day care center tag office, two beauty shops, senior citizen’s center, library, car wash, backhoe business, two cafes and offices for Pioneer Telephone Cooperative. Several trucking and oilfield related businesses, including Case Welding, Summit Laydown Services, Dustin Donley Dozer, Jeff McIntosh Trucking, CURCO, Curry Dozer and Trucking, Karz Trucking, Wages Slickline Service and Aldridge Trucking, also call Mooreland home.

Hanor Farms, a huge pig operation, is also located southeast of Mooreland and provides lots of employment opportunities for area residents. On farther east is the large Allied Gypsum rock quarry, which provides material for the plant at the west edge of Mooreland.
